I'm really upset. Not that I have seen a bunch of movies, but because his presence on this planet made some things worthwhile and put a lot of this world's junk into perspective. How appropriate it is that his death should fall on the first week of advent!
That a man honored with the Nobel Peace Prize is gone and that we still are in "waiting" for the Prince of Peace, the Lamb of God to redeem and save us. That a man who was imprisoned for over 27 years is now completely free from the pain of this earthly life. That one man can become a world symbol for peaceful resolution. That a man had to experience so much pain and hardship in order for the world to listen. Does any of this bear similarity to Christ?
Rest in Peace and light perpetual Mr. Mandela. JP
