It's been over a month since our last entry here- so much has been going on- it's hard to find time to blog! We promise to be better about that.
The kids are getting into their school routine very well and having volleyball and soccer also makes it more fun. They are working really hard in their classes, especially with Math and Spanish.
Our new pup Zeus is a real bundle of entertainment. (and sometimes sleeplessness) He will be a good guard-dog in a few more months! Right now we have to guard our shoes from him...
Our home has been in a state of transition this last week with the other missionary couple returning and taking most of the furniture with them to their new house. It seems everyday we are shopping for items that we need in the house- like clothespins, mop/broom, light bulbs, pots, dishes, etc. I would love to decorate, but those extras will have to wait until we have our necessities covered.
This last week has been difficult. I won't lie...I miss our "old life" in a lot of ways. I miss the convenience of getting into our own vehicle and driving to the store or just going for a nice drive. I miss my bike. I miss the convenience of things. I miss our friends and family.I also miss being respected in my field. It's hard when you have zero history in a place and you are also linguistically challenged.
Yes, I know we decided on this route, so I can't claim ignorance or that I expected life here to be easier.
We are still honeymooners here in the sense of the novelty and the excitement of the journey. I wonder at what point the novelty will wear off and how we will be then.
We will continue to work with each new day and strive to glorify God with each challenge and circumstance.
We would love to hear from you! Drop us a line or Skype us- we would love it!
